Numerical analysis is the area of mathematics and computer science that creates, analyses, and implements algorithms for solving numerically the problems of continuous mathematics. Such problems originate generally from real-world applications of algebra, geometry, and calculus, and they involve variables which vary continuously.

In this subject we want to understand some fundamental concepts of the course as the following absolute and relative errors, numerical instability, unstable, convergence and divergence of the numerical methods.

The principle and theories of the course focused on some important theorems like mean value theorem, the fundamental theory in algebra, the fundamental theory in calculus and some concept of numerical analysis like error, absolute error, approximate solution and numerical methods.

This course will emphasize the development of numerical algorithms to provide solutions to common problems formulated in science and engineering. The primary objective of the course is to develop the basic understanding of the construction of numerical algorithms, and perhaps more importantly, the applicability and limits of their appropriate use. The emphasis of the course will be the thorough study of numerical algorithms to understand (i) the guaranteed accuracy that various methods provide, (2) the efficiency and scalability for large scale systems. and (3) issues of stability. also, the course provides an introduction to scientific computing. Several numerical methods are presented for the computer solution of mathematical problems arising in different applications. The software MATLAB is used to solve the problems and verify the theoretical properties of the numerical methods.
